If Bali feels a little too busy these days, Lombok might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Think quieter beaches, epic waterfalls, a volcano you can hike above the clouds, and some of the clearest water in Indonesia. It’s the kind of island where you can surf in the morning, chase waterfalls in the afternoon, and watch the sunset from a cliffside café.
Here’s exactly how I’d spend 7 days in Lombok — with realistic prices in £ so you can budget your trip.
Day 1 — Arrive & Explore Senggigi
Most travellers start their trip in Senggigi, Lombok’s main beach area.
It’s relaxed, scenic, and a great base to recover from travel.

Check into your hotel and take a walk along Senggigi Beach.

Visit Pura Batu Bolong, a small temple perched dramatically on a cliff above the sea.
Evening
Watch sunset at Senggigi Beach and have dinner at a beachfront restaurant.

The best are near Senaru.

sunrise views above the clouds
volcanic crater lakes
incredible landscapes
(Guided treck includes guide, camping equipment, and meals)
